İrem Önal received his BA degree on Management Engineering from İstanbul University. The subject of her dissertation was "Organizational Culture and its Effects on Human Resources Practices". Having extended her interest on HR there, İrem Önal was accepted to Organizational Psychology masters program at Koç University same year, as the first engineer who reached such achievement. At this program, İrem Önal conducted various researches on mobbing and Hürriyet İK published one of her researches in the same year. This very research was deemed worthy of a presentation at the Conference of Industry Organizational Psychology at Stockholm - Sweden. During her graduate study, İrem Önal took part in projects of big companies including Global Bilgi and City Bank and also provided training there. During her last year at masters program, Önal served as a part time HR Representative at 3M. Supported by a 200 people laboratory work, the subject of her dissertation was "Performance Management and the Error of Negativity". Her studies were published by various psychology magazines. After graduating in 2007, İrem Önal started her career at Türk Tuborg Carlsberg as an HR Specialist, and focused on hiring, training and performance management functions. Same year, she and a group of her friends took the first step to establish "Genç İK" (Young HR - www.gencikcilar.com), which soon to become the network of young HR professionals with over 60 members currently. The group became the leading HR platform in Turkey. In 2008, İrem Önal joined Frito Lay and worked on HR processes, organizational management and development projects. Beside her current position as the Field Sales HR Manager at PepsiCo Turkey, Önal makes research on HR Practices, HR Transformation and Organizational Culture. She continues to use her knowledge on perception-cognitive processes on general HR processes.
