Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül, born in 1961, Istanbul, completed Istanbul High School and graduated from studies in the Biological Sciences Department of Middle East Technical University and completed his education on Marketing, Advertising and PR in Richmond College, UK. He worked in companies like Unilever, Bayer, Gillette, Barilla (Filiz Gıda), performed in manufacturing, sales, marketing and general management disciplines as high-level manager, General Manager and Board of Directors' member positions in Turkey and abroad.

In his last post, Sarıgül worked in Evyap Holding as Executive Committee Member and General Manager for International Sales. In the meantime, he worked as General Manager in Evyap International and executed Board of Directors membership in Evyap International and Amber International. He was also President of Representative Office of Evyap in Russia.

Sarıgül worked in several organisations such as Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI), Istanbul Exporters' Association (IIB), Pasta Manufacturers Association of Turkey (TMSD), Efficient Consumer Response Association of Turkey (ECR), and Federation of Food&Drink Industries Association in different positions as a member, vice-president or president in Sector Committees, Executive committees or Board of Directors. Meanwhile, he also served as Executive Committee Member in Foreign Economic Relations Board, (DEIK) Turkish-Russian, Turkish-Kazakh, Turkish-Ukrainian and Turkish-Tajik Business Councils and as member of World Turkish Business Council (DTİK) and Istanbul Chamber of Industry Foreign Trade Council.

Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül is now working in TEMA, The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats as General Director and Executive Committee Member. Sarıgül speaks German and English.

Mehmet Serdar Sarıgül is married and has two children.
