Born in London, graduated from Bogaziçi University in 1992
with a bachelor's degree in International Relations and Political
Science. As a Fulbright scholar studied at Boston University
and got a master's degree in Broadcast Journalism. Kabaş received
her PhD degree at Marmara University, İstanbul in Journalism
with her thesis on "News Interviews: The Art of Asking
Questions". She has been lecturing at some universities
in Istanbul on "Presentation Skills and Public Speech",
"The Art of Interviewing", "Media Relations"
and "News Writing".
Known to be the first Turkish journalist who worked for CNN
International in Atlanta (1995-1997) where she prepared some
special news packages on issues concerning Middle East, Europe
and Balkans. She received the 1998 CNN World Report/ Best
Economy News award with a report on the booming Turkish doner
kebab industry in Germany.
Since 1997, Kabaş has produced and presented news programs
for Turkish national TV channels where she conducted thousands
of interviews with celebrities and received many awards. In
2007 founded her own company Sedef Kabaş Communication &
Consultancy. She provides coaching for executives, professionals
and leading figures in politics, gives consultancy and group
trainings for large scale companies. She is also one of the
coaches of Presentationgym, with which she does coaching on
international scale. So far she has published five books.
